Overview
Open Structure → Building Blocks in the sidebar. The list shows all building blocks with:- Description: Display name of the building block
- Code: Unique technical identifier
- Layout Area: Position in the layout (e.g. header logo, footer newsletter, AI button)
Creating a New Building Block
Click + New in the toolbar.1
General
- Code: Unique technical identifier (no spaces or umlauts)
- Description: Display name of the building block

Publication
- Layout Area: Position where the building block should appear on pages
- Active by default: Whether new pages should automatically adopt the building block
- Active: Makes the building block available system-wide
- Show in all languages: Makes the building block available across languages

Save
Click Save or Save and close.
Managing the Contents of a Building Block
Select a building block in the list and click Edit (or double-click). You arrive at the content list of the building block. Here you manage the individual contents just as with pages.In building blocks, only page contents (from the Content, Link, Collection, System, Shop tabs) can be inserted, not elements.

Changing Building Block Settings
Select a building block in the list and click Settings in the toolbar. There you will find the same fields as when creating (Code, Description, Layout Area, Active, etc.).Deleting a Building Block
Select a building block and click Delete in the toolbar.Activating a Building Block on a Page
For a building block to appear on a page or shopping world, you must activate it there. Open the settings of the respective page and enable the desired building block in the Building Blocks area.Using the Active by default option when creating a building block, you determine whether new pages automatically adopt the building block.
