Our extension allows you to store any number of shipping options in the system. In addition, you can associate certain conditions with the shipping options, so that there is no possibility of processing an order with the wrong shipping option.
Shipping options can only be maintained on a shipping group. It is therefore advisable to first create a shipping group, see Shipping Groups. For information on how to add shipping options to an order, see Calculation in the Order.
1

Step 1: Navigating to the Shipping Options

To access the shipping options, first navigate to the shipping groups. You can reach these by searching for “Shipping Groups” in the search bar and clicking on the search result of the same name. The “Shipping Groups” list should then open. There, first select a shipping group by clicking on it, for which you want to create shipping options. You can tell which group is selected by the fact that it is highlighted in blue. After that, click on the “Shipping Options” FastTab, which opens a list of the shipping options maintained on the shipping groups. In our example, we want to maintain shipping options on the newly created shipping group “B2B”.

Step 2: Creating a New Shipping Option

In the Shipping Options list, you can create a new shipping option on the shipping group by clicking the “New” FastTab in the menu bar at the top.
If shipping options have already been created, this inserts a row in the list above the currently selected entry.
In the respective row, you can then configure the settings of the shipping option and assign various options, which we explain to you below.

Step 3: Choosing Description, Shipping Zones, and Shipping Classes Code

In the respective fields, first choose a description for your shipping option. This description is then displayed later in your orders. In our example, we choose “DHL-Standard” as the description, since we want to create a shipping option for a standard delivery via DHL.After that, a shipping zone code of an already created shipping zone can be added. The shipping option is then only valid for this zone.
For information on how to create a shipping zone, see Shipping Zones.
In the example, we select the shipping zone DE for Germany here, since there are different conditions for national and international shipping. Now a shipping class code can also be assigned. As a result, when determining the valid shipping option matching the items in the order, the shipping option with the shipping class that has the highest priority is automatically selected. The other shipping options are then not taken into account.
For more information on shipping classes, see Shipping Classes.
Since in our example this shipping option is not intended to receive any special prioritization, we choose the shipping class code “Default” for the standard prioritization.

Step 4: Activating and Deactivating a Shipping Option

With the “Is Active” field, you can manually activate and deactivate the shipping option.
Deactivated shipping options are not taken into account for an order.
If the checkmark is shown in this field, then the shipping option is active. However, if it is not shown, then the shipping option is deactivated.Activation or deactivation can be carried out simply by clicking on the respective field in the “Is Active” column.

Step 5: Filtering by Validity, Weight, and Order Total

Now you have the option to further adjust or filter the shipping option.Using the two fields “Valid From” and “Valid To”, the validity of the shipping option can be limited to a certain period. When calculating the shipping costs for an order, the shipping options are then filtered by work date according to these settings.
Leave these fields empty if the shipping option should be valid without restriction.
Since in our example this is a standard option for shipping, it should be valid without restriction, which is why we leave these two fields empty. In the fields “Weight From” and “Weight To”, a minimum or maximum weight in kilograms can be added to the shipping option. If the items of an order weigh less or more, then this shipping option is not taken into account for the respective order. In our example, we assign a maximum weight of 31.5 kg in the “Weight To” field, since this is the maximum weight for DHL parcels. In addition, using the fields “Order Total From” and “Order Total To”, it is possible to limit the order total range in which this shipping option is available. If the order total of an order lies outside the selected range, then this shipping option is not taken into account for the respective order. In our example, we set a maximum order total of €500, since by default only parcels up to this value are insured.

Step 6: Maintaining Shipping Costs and Free Shipping Threshold

Furthermore, using the “Shipping Costs” field, you can specify which shipping costs are incurred for this shipping option. These are then inserted into the order when calculating the shipping costs. In the “Free Shipping Threshold” field, you can then specify an order total from which this shipping option becomes free, i.e. from which no shipping costs are incurred in the order. In our example, we set shipping costs of €4.00 and set a free shipping threshold of €35.00.

Step 7: Maintaining Logo and Description

Now you can also add a logo and a description for the shipping option, which are then visible in the order.By clicking on the “No” in the “Logo” field, you open an explorer. There you can upload images via drag & drop. These are then stored as the logo.By clicking “OK” at the bottom, you then confirm the uploaded image. When you click on the “No” in the “Long Description” field, you open an editor in which you can add a longer description for the shipping option. You can format this text as you wish using the editor. Here, too, you confirm the text by clicking “OK” at the bottom.

Step 8: Adding a Shipping Agent Code and Shipping Agent Service Code

So that the correct shipping agent and the correct transport method are also displayed later in the order, you must link these. You link the correct shipping agent using the “Shipping Agent Code” field. By clicking on the field, a list of the maintained shipping agent codes is displayed to you. From this, you can simply choose the correct one.The shipping agent maintained in the shipping agent code is then automatically inserted into the corresponding field in the order. In the “Shipping Agent Service Code” field, you can, as just described, choose the correct service code to link the correct transport method with the shipping option. This again inserts the transport method appropriately into the corresponding field in the order. In our example, we choose “DHL” as the shipping agent code and “Standard” as the shipping agent service code.

Step 9: Linking Delivery Terms and Additional Text Modules

In addition, there is the possibility of linking delivery terms and additional text modules, which are then automatically added to the order.Using the “Delivery Terms Code” field, you can link a delivery term. The text module stored in the delivery terms code is automatically inserted as an additional line after the shipping cost line when inserting the shipping option into an order. Provided you have made the necessary configurations there, this text module also unfolds there. In our example, we select the delivery terms for a delivery there. In addition, using the “Text Module Order” field, you can specify a further text module code through which a text module is linked. You can format this freely. It, too, is inserted below the delivery terms.
This completes the creation of the shipping option. Saving is not necessary, since every entry is saved automatically.

Step 10: Copying Shipping Options

To minimize the effort when maintaining further shipping options, our extension also offers the possibility of copying shipping options.
This works by clicking on the “Copy Shipping Option” FastTab in the menu bar. As a result, the currently selected shipping option, i.e. the one highlighted in blue, is copied.
