After installing our extension, you can display the “Coupon Codes” list. This is where coupon codes can be created, and coupon lines can then be maintained for them. These coupon lines in turn contain the code with which a customer receives the desired value of the voucher. In the following, we will show you how to access this list and create a coupon code.
We will show you how to create or generate the individual coupon lines under Generate Coupon Lines.

Step 1: Navigate to the “Coupon Codes” List

First, navigate to the coupon list by searching for “Coupon Codes” using the search bar. Then click on the list of the same name. The “Coupon Codes” list should now open in a new window. The already created coupon codes are listed there, can be edited, and new coupon lines can be added to the coupon codes.

Step 3: Configure General Settings

Initially, a code and a description need to be maintained. The code must not contain any spaces or certain special characters. However, you can choose the description freely. In our example, we select “WERTGUTSCHEIN10” as the code and “Wertgutschein 10€” as the description, since the coupon lines maintained under this coupon code are intended to be value vouchers worth €10.00.Using the “Coupon Group” field, you can assign a coupon group to the coupon code.

Step 4: Select the Voucher Type

You can now decide which voucher type the coupon lines to be created later should have. With our extension, you have the option to create both value vouchers and discount vouchers.Value vouchers are essentially a payment method. The amount loaded onto them does not expire, and the voucher can be used for multiple purchases until the value on it reaches zero. With discount vouchers, entering the code grants a certain discount. Discounts in the form of amounts, percentage discounts, or items are possible with our extension. Special shipping options can also be made available by entering a code. This allows you to create, for example, a code that enables free shipping.Depending on which voucher type is intended, the value type must also be set accordingly. You have the following options:
  • Amount: This allows you to create amount-based coupon lines in this coupon code. These waive a certain amount from the customer’s invoice.
  • Percent: This allows you to create discount coupon lines under this coupon code. These grant a percentage discount on the invoice.
  • Item: This allows coupon lines for items to be added to this coupon code. These add the selected item to the customer’s shopping cart free of charge.
  • Special Shipping: This allows coupon lines to be added to this coupon code that enable special shipping conditions for the customer.
In addition, for amount-based vouchers, you have the option to activate the “Value Voucher” checkbox. This turns the created coupon lines into value vouchers. In our case, the coupon code is intended to contain value vouchers worth €10. Therefore, we select the “Amount” option from the “Value Type” drop-down. We also activate the “Value Voucher” checkbox.

You have now created a coupon code to which you can add coupon lines.
