Step 1: Open Webshop Language Overview
Navigate to the Webshop Languages area by entering “Webshop Language Overview” in the search.
Step 2: Open Webshop Categories
Click the FastTab “Categories” in the “Settings” menu ribbon to open the Webshop Category Overview.
Step 3: Create Level 1 Category
To create a first-level category, select the FastTab “New”. The new entry is inserted above the currently selected row. To enable quick creation and editing of a category, the category overview is already editable in the list. Categories can therefore be entered and edited directly in the list by clicking “Edit List”. In our example, we name the first-level category “Bicycle”. We recommend maintaining the search code at the same time by entering “bicycle” there as well.Since the search code is a URL slug, only lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-) are permitted. Special characters such as spaces, umlauts, or punctuation marks are not allowed and must be encoded or replaced.
Step 4: Activate Level 1 Category
To open the card view of the category just created, select the category and then click the FastTab “Edit” in the “New” menu ribbon. Here you set the checkbox in the menu item “General” to active.

Step 5: Add Text to Level 1 Category
To create an introductory text for the category, navigate in the “Navigate” menu ribbon to the FastTab “Appearance”. There, select the menu item “Descriptions” from the drop-down menu that opens and click the FastTab “Edit Category Excerpt”. An editor opens in which you can enter and format text. We recommend repeating the category name as a heading with the style “Heading 1”.

Step 6: Configure Display Options
In our example, the first-level category contains no items but is intended to display an overview of the subcategories it contains. For this example configuration, we select the following settings in the menu item “Display Options”:- Show all items: do not show
- Show subcategories: Tiles
- Show action items: do not show

Step 7: Create Level 2 Category
Select the row below the first-level category just created and select the FastTab “New” in the “Home” menu ribbon. The description and search code of the category can now be maintained again. In our example, we name the second-level category “Mountain Bikes”.
Step 8: Activate Level 2 Category
Click the FastTab “Edit” again to open the card view of the category just created. In our example, this category is simultaneously a category of the last level and is therefore intended to display an overview of all items it contains. For this example configuration, we select the following settings in the menu item “General”:- Active: set checkbox
- Item sorting: Popularity

Step 9: Configure Display Options for Level 2 Category
In our example, the second-level category is intended to display all items in a list. For this example configuration, we select the following settings in the menu item “Display Options”:- Show all items: List view
- Show subcategory: do not show
- Show action items: do not show

Step 10: Add Image to Level 1 Category
So that a tile with an image for the subcategories can be displayed in the first-level category, maintain an explanatory image or icon via the FastTab “Edit Category Image”. To do this, navigate via the “Navigate” menu ribbon and “Appearance” to the FastTab “Category Image”. Images in JPEG or PNG format can be inserted here, which are then automatically converted to the correct size.

Step 11: Assign Items to a Category
To assign items to a webshop category, select the FastTab “Assigned Items” via the “Navigate” menu ribbon and “General”. The list “Webshop Item Categories” opens, containing an overview of all items already assigned. An additional item can be added via the “New” button. In this example, we add the “AeroBurner Driver”. In the FastTab “Process”, the order of items in this list can be changed using the “Move Up” or “Move Down” buttons. If you want to assign multiple items to a category at the same time, you can do so via the “Assign Items” button in the “Actions” menu ribbon. Here, items can be assigned using filters on fields such as description or NAV category code.In our example, we have assigned items to a category. It is also possible to assign items to a category from a webshop item card.

Step 12: Adjust Category Levels
Click the FastTabs “Move Up” and “Move Down” in the “Process” menu ribbon to change the order of the currently selected categories within their own level.Using the FastTabs “Move Left” and “Move Right”, the level of the currently selected category can be changed. Clicking “Move Left” moves the category one level up, and clicking “Move Right” moves it one level down. This function is particularly useful for making minor changes to the order of categories. To move categories extensively, we recommend creating a new category at the desired position, copying the settings and assigned items from the old category, and then deleting the old category.

Step 13: Synchronise Webshop Category
To synchronise the categories with the webshop system, click the FastTab “Update All Categories” in the “Process” menu ribbon. This updates all categories that have been changed since the last update. If you only want to update a single category, use the FastTab “Update Category”.All changed categories are also automatically updated with the next full data update.
