Set up digital items

Here we show you how you can mark a webshop item as a digital item.

Step 1: Open the Item list

Navigate to the Items by typing ‘Item’ in the search bar.

Step 2: Open the Webshop Item card

Mark the line with the desired item that you would like to declare it as a digital item. In our example we select the ‘TaylorMade Golf 2018 P790 Men's Iron’ with the Item No. ‘1009’.

Then click on the fast tab ‘Webshop’ in the ribbon bar ‘Item’ to open the Webshop Item card.

Step 3: Select how you want to offer the item

In the field ‘Digital Product’ in the menu ‘Digital Purchase’, you can now select how you want to offer the item digitally.

The following options can be chosen:
 
  • No
  • Download
  • Video player
  • Ticket

Step 4: Define the Order Type

In the field ‘Order Type’, you can specify how the item should be ordered.

You have the following options:
 
  • Normal: The item is ordered normally in the webshop, also with other non-digital articles
  • Own Basket: The item can only be ordered with other digital products in a separate shopping basket
  • Own Checkout: The item can only be ordered via your own checkout without a basket

Step 5: Define the Distribution Method

In the field ‘Distribution Method’, you can choose whether the item can only be distributed digitally, or digitally and in an analog format.

The following options are available:
 
  • Digital: The item can only be ordered as a digital product, e.g. as a PDF file
  • Digital & shipping: The item can be ordered digitally & in an analog format, e.g. catalog in printed form and as PDF

Step 6: Define the Distribution

In the field ‘Distribution’ you can select how an item should be distributed.

You can choose the following options:
 
  • Download: The item will be sent as a download
  • File Transfer: Item is sent to the customer via email
  • Video Player

Step 7: Require a customer account

In the field ‘Customer Account needed’, you can specify whether the customer needs an account to order the item or not.

If you check the checkbox a customer account is required for the customer. If it is unchecked, then there is no account needed.
