Register a vendor

Here we show you how to register a vendor for the webshop.

Basically, it should be noted, that you first have to create a vendor in the system in order to be able to activate or register him for the webshop at all. The seller selected here as an example is already created in Business Central by default and is called ‘Fabrikam, Inc.’ with the Vendor No. ‘10000’.

Step 1: Open the Vendor list

Navigate to the Vendor area via entering ‘Vendor’ in the search bar.

Step 2: Open the Vendor Card

Mark the line with the desired vendor who you would like to register for the webshop. In this example we choose ‘Fabrikam, Inc.’.

Then click on the fast tab ‘Edit’ in the ribbon bar ‘Manage’ to open the Vendor Card.

Step 3: Set the E-Commerce data

First you need to scroll all the way down to the menu ‘E-Commerce’.

In our example we want to register the vendor for a representative portal. For this configuration we choose the following settings:
 
  • Webshop Shop Code: "SALES"
  • Webshop language code: "ENU"

Step 4: Send the access data via Email

In order to be able to send the right webshop access data to the vendor, you must enter the Email address of the vendor in the field ‘Webshop Login E-Mail Addr.’.

In our example we enter ‘lorenz@contoso.com’ there and click on the fast tab ‘Zugangsdaten versenden’ in the menu ‘Process’. You can close the message window that then opens by simply clicking on ‘OK’.
